A Wheelchair for Brittany

My name is Brittany, and I was born with Spina Bifida. It's a spinal cord birth defect. While I was born with the lucky ability of being able to walk, I was also the person with the unlucky ability to lose it all. Walking has become more difficult and painful, with weakness creeping in. While being in a wheelchair would help me get around, it doesn't sort the pain issue out - which is something we are persuing with a neurosurgeon now.

I've been out of volunteering duties (I work with ESE Kindergarteners) since the beginning of October. This wheelchair would help with every day mobility. It will also help my mom as it's very lightweight; she's my way around and with a light wheelchair she would be able to get it out of the back of the van with little trouble.

Every donation is helpful; whether it's $5 or 3 pennies. A share on Facebook or Twitter is also helpful because it helps spread the word about my cause! No one will ever be forgotten for helping me out.

I got to California yesterday. Crazy traffic but it was pretty fun trying to avoid the freeway... We were forced into getting on it anyway after going around and around and around. Good times!!! Totally worth the wait. This chair is so much better than the image I had in my head. I knew it'd be cool, but Sean totally decked this thing out PERFECTLY! On the forks I wanted soccer balls. Of course! What'd Sean and Donna come up with? Using Manchester United pins instead! It is SO awesome! The pics look cool... But it seriously looks so much better in person. I'm just playing with it right now while I post. Thanks a lot for donating, sharing this link and supporting me! Cannot thank you enough. It's amazing.

Pain, pain, go away, come again another day... Wait... Where'd it go? It's gone. I went to Neurology yesterday for my first Botox injection to help with the contracture of the big toe (two in my shin) and she also injected for the Achilles (one in the calf) being tight. She said it would be about a week before we saw the results, but it's day one and I haven't had any pain in the left leg. Usually it's nonstop!

The wheelchair build is going VERY well and QUICK! SeanCo won't show me full pictures for obvious reasons but I cannot wait to see it. Especially the cool little details he's going to add. I know I'm gonna see it and it'll exceed everything I had in my mind. Now for the surprise I was keeping! I will be flying out to California when the chair is finished for a week. One of their WCMX riders Blake will help teach me the basics and I'll finally get to meet Donna and Trinity; we've been connected through Spina Bifida groups for over a decade now. And of course I'll meet Sean, the genius behind the metal bending, welding and details! Very cool!

@Janie Samuel - Your comment is extremely rude. This Go Fund Me is to help raise money for a decent wheelchair for Brittany to last her the rest of her life not a crappy little thing that she has to replace in a few years time. I don't like what you are insinuating in your comment and I can't imagine that I am the only one!
