Victoria lost her battle to cancer

Victoria James (aka Tori) is 11 years old and was just diagnosed with Stage IV Liver cancer and it has spread to her lungs. Tori was having shoulder pain for about a month and every time we took her to the doctor they said it was a strained muscle, probably from her heavy back pack. So we lightened the load in her backpack and did the ibuprofen and heating pads like they said. But it seemed as time went on the pain got worse instead of better. Last Friday 3/31/17 she had some stomach pain also and they decided it was best to go to ER at Spring Valley Hospital. They did x rays on her chest and a CT scan on abdomen. They then transported her to Sunrise Children’s Hospital where they did another x ray and CT scan early the next day. At around 3pm the Oncologist on duty took me and her mother into a separate room to tell us that Victoria has a large tumor in her Liver and it has spread into her lungs. They told us then that it was Stage IV cancer and our hearts sank. There are no words that can express the pain of having to tell your child that they have cancer and seeing the terror in their eyes. On Monday Tori had a biopsy to determine what kind of cancer it could be. If it is one type we may be able to shrink the tumor with chemo and other procedures, and if it’s the other we will have a harder road ahead of us. We are hoping to have the results tomorrow 4/7/17 to see which way we will be fighting this cancer. She is a huge Wonder Woman fan so we hoping we can channel her strength and help Tori through this difficult time. We are asking for any help we can get towards our medical bills for Victoria. Every little bit will help us take care of this brave little wonder woman my daughter has become. FIGHT LIKE A GIRL!
