Vivacious Van's Vicious Brain Cancer

Van and Laurie are two of the most amazing people in my life. Their positive spirit in this very dark time is awe inspiring. If you are reading this, then you also know that Laurie and Van are dealing with the horrific reality that Van has incurable glioblastoma. As Tim McCraw sings, “How do you live like you are dying?” Laurie and Van are “Talkin ‘bout options and talkin’ bout sweet time”. This song goes on to ask, what do you do when you get this kind of news? You go sky diving, rocky mountain climbing, etc. This sounds good for a country song, but the practical part of me asks how do you do this with the mountain of medical bills, mortgage payments, utilities, groceries, clinical trial expenses? This is where you come in. Laurie and Van NEED financial help, though they would never set this up on their own. Van will most likely not be returning to work and he requires round the clock care. Laurie has shared with me that with their deductible resetting on July 1, they will have $8000 in out of pocket medical expenses due in July. Additionally, the family would like to go on a family trip to Hawaii if the doctor clears Van for travel.
