Valerie Thompson Background: Valerie Thompson is one of the most determined and successful independent female racers competing today, living in a world of speed on and off the racetrack. After a successful career in banking, she became a top competitor in the All Harley Drag Racing Association and NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle series. Driven to go even faster, Valerie is now a 6-time motorcycle land speed record holder and racing team owner. When not presenting client vehicles at Barrett-Jackson & Metro Auto Auction in her hometown of Scottsdale, Valerie is making personal appearances all over the country promoting her team sponsors and supporting children’s organizations like HopeKids.org.
Valerie Thompson Land Speed Racing Team: Valerie's first year as a team owner/driver met with tremendous success in 2012, setting three new national speed records and gaining membership in the “Mojave Magnum 200 MPH Club” with her BMW S 1000 RR. In 2013, she set a new 1000 cc class/track record and earned membership to the prestigious “Texas Mile 200 MPH Club” with back-to-back 212 mph runs, a new personal best top speed. Valerie also became a member of the “201 MPH Club” at the prestigious Bonneville Speed Trials. During the 2014 Ohio Mile, she collected her sixth speed record with a record-smashing run of 208.71 mph and became one of few female members in the “ECTA 200 MPH Club.”
