GLOBAL HEALTH OUTREACH Savannah, GA

Volunteers Around the World is the world's fastest growing student-led international health organization. Starting Fall 2018 we are building a chapter in Savannah, GA from the ground up and we need all the help we can get! Volunteers Around The World is a social enterprise and humanitarian organization devoted to improving the standard of living for those that live in some of the most poverty stricken communities of the world. Our focus is to provide communities with access to medical and dental treatment, medication, nutritional security, clean water and health education. VAW has a variety of outreach programs including Medical, Dental, Veterinary and Global Health… The Savannah chapter will focus on Global Health Outreach. The work of Volunteers Around the World is done by volunteers who donate their time, money and energies to the welfare of fellow human beings. It is through the efforts of these selfless individuals and working in conjunction with community members and leaders that the world will become a healthier and better place to live.

The Savannah Chapter will prepare for an annual fifteen day missionary trip to Guatemala, your donation will contribute to our team's supply fund and volunteer trip fees which are $1,695 per person, plus airfare. We hope to have 20+ volunteers join us, your donation will allow more volunteers to participate. While we are in Guatemala our team will work and live with locals of San Pedro La Laguna (GUA). We will build sustainable systems such as latrines, composting, water recycling and community gardens, we will also work to educate people about health and sustainability. 

This is a unique and humbling opportunity for a college student to to be apart of something bigger than themselves. Help us to bring as many volunteers as possible for a life changing experience that will shape the future of our sustainable designers and leaders as well as improve the lives and welfare of GUA locals.

We are grateful for any amount that you could donate. 
Some examples of what donations can go towards:

- $20 can buy 2,000 Vitamins for adults, which goes to help patients who lack regular nutrients in their diet. This will also buy a day’s worth of gloves in our dental clinics.
- $50 can buy 250 tablets of Ciprofloxacin, which goes to treat patients with bacterial infections. It can also purchase enough composite restorative material to fill over 50 teeth.
- $300 can buy 200 bottles of Children’s Acetaminophen, which goes to treat children with cold’s and flu’s.
- $500 can buy enough medications for one mobile clinic day and treat up to 100 patients or enough prophy paste and brushes, sealant material, and fluoride varnish to perform prophylaxis to all patients during one full trip.
- $1795 can pay for one student’s program fees to come to the country and help run a mobile medical or dental clinic.
- $3000 can pay for medications for an entire team’s trip (6 mobile medical clinics).
