Spreading Hope

Donation protected
There is a growing number of women who are struggling with addiction/alcoholism in the US. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA):

2 in 5 women drink alcohol.

4 million women are heavy drinkers.

2.5 million women are alcohol-dependent.

1 in 10 pregnant women drinks alcohol, and

15.8 million women have used illicit drugs in the past year.

Most of the time, drinking or drug use is a way to dull pain, or try to forget past abuse, or other hurts. By sharing personal experiences of abuse, abandonment, alcoholism and addiction, and how these issues were overcome, we are helping to address these issues, and reduce the stigma and shame that women alcoholics/addicts may face.

What began as a written ministry has now become a speaking ministry. After speaking before some smaller groups, it became apparent that women need to hear this message and know that there is hope and help.

There have been numerous women who have expressed gratitude for bringing this issue to light and have been able to get the help they needed, or simply have the support they needed to address the issue.

By addressing the issue of women and abuse or addiction, it gives women the freedom to not only speak aloud their issues, but also find support and help. It is comforting to hear that other people have been abused, or struggle with addiction. It empowers other women to speak out and share their struggles, and to help each other. It enables women to voice their issues, and seek help.
