Five life-long friends with a love of hockey. That's all these boys were until someone posted a picture of their Rippy's Receipt to Reddit.
With the Nashville Predators making it to their first ever Stanley Cup Final, the hockey world was already waking up to the level of passion that Nashvillians have for the Preds. Little did these boys know that they'd become a part of the story!
This little group of guys have been watching the Predators take the ice since the very beginning back in '98. Most of them were at the first ever playoff game in '04, and hockey has become an integral part of their friendship. So much so, that when Justin moved away to Brooklyn in '05 and David moved to Wisconsin around the same time, hockey talk and the Predators helped to keep them all together.
When the Predators beat the Ducks in Game 6 back in May, the guys immediately knew they'd be in Nashville for the first ever Stanley Cup Final game, even knowing they couldn't afford tickets. David and Justin immediately bought plane tickets, and the guys made plans to meet at Rippy's downtown.
Even without being able to afford tickets to the game, Shawn, Zack, Jon, David and Justin absolutely knew they had to be in Nashville together for this game. Just to be a part of the atmosphere -- to be a part of the crowd.
It was absolutely the best hockey game they'd ever watched together. They had know idea that their 10 hour party would get so much attention!
So now Game 6 is right around the corner, back in Nashville. Back into that crowd....that atmosphere....that bucket of Coors Light!
So we'd absolutely LOVE to see these boys able to make it back to Nashville for Game 6, which is why this GoFundMe was started. For such passionate fans, and such great friends, being able to watch the Nashville Predators potentially clinch a Stanley Cup?!
