Hi my name is Jamie Anderson, 23 years old from Newcastle Upon Tyne. I am currently working towards earning an Education while being a Athlete in the USA playing Football/Soccer. My dream is to become an professional Football player but i also have a back up plan of becoming an Sports Coach. I have always told myself if playing did not work out i would pass on my love and knowledge of the sport to children or anyone that is looking into learning more about football/soccer.
I have been playing football from the age of 7 at my local clubs in Newcastle upon Tyne, i have played for many clubs which have been stepping stones to get me where i am now. I currently play for Newcastle Chemfica and Durham City Reserves, my position on the pitch is a striker.
When i was 18 years old, thats when my interest on playing aboard came to mind as i had friends that are already out there and said that they love it. Seeing my friend in such a great position brought the passion for football out to make that my goal, to learn a different country's style of play and to also show them what i can do with my abilities in the sport. However i was currently playing that season while going through the USA scholarship process and the last game of the season for my local club Newcastle Benfield i broke my leg which ruled me out for a whole season ahead and stopped me from pursuing my dreams to play in the US.
Whilst i was going through recovery after my operation on my leg i struggled to get through the injury as it had a more of an mental impact then physical impact on me which was extremely hard at times. Although that did not stop me, it came to a point where i realised if i think positive, mentally anything can happen. so throughout my recovery i pushed myself to the limit to get back to where i left off and to become stronger and faster then i was, so i can get back to my dreams of playing football in the US.
So this is why i have created this to help me follow my dreams as i have now came to the stage of getting interests from US colleges to play out there with the help from GSR.
So the amount of money i have set to raise is £2000 which will help me buy towards my flights , accommodation etc. Any help with my funding to follow my dreams would be amazing.
I always tell myself to get me through any barriers that tries and stops me and anything that happens is this:
"Everything happens for a reason, if its meant to be it will happen"
