Team Cookie Potter for Croatia

Donation protected
Hi!

We're trying to fund a team of 4 players and 1 Non-playing Captain to participate in the 4th Open Youth Bridge Championship that will be held in Opatija, Croatia in August 2015.

We've listed incentive rewards to show our gratitude for your generosity, but keep in mind, if none of the rewards suit you, we'd love your donations anyway, anonymous or otherwise! Please and thank you! :)

Any and all donations matter to us. Many thanks for taking the time to familiarize yourself with what we're trying to do here. Please pass along the message to your friends. It would mean the world to us if this project became a reality. Truly.

The team consists of the following partnerships:

Anam Tebha-Oren Kriegel

Alex Hudson-Christian Jolly

With Roger Lee as NPC

You might have noticed us at tournaments from the last few years, but a bit more of an introduction seems appropriate here.

Oren is 20 and a junior at the University of Chicago majoring in Political Science. He is the president of his university bridge club and coaches their collegiate team. He aspires to be a professional bridge player after attaining his degree. He's played WBF events multiple times. In 2013, having achieved a gold medal in the U21 category and most recently, in Turkey at the 15th World Youth Open Championships in 2014, he placed 2nd for a silver medal in the U21 category.

Age 23, Anam has just graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with majors in Microbiology, Chemistry, and Psychology. Graduate school is in the picture, but for the next year she plans to play a lot of bridge. Over the summer she will be volunteering for the Silicon Valley Youth Bridge Camp helping teach the game to newer youth players. She's represented the USBF in U25 events multiple times, mostly recently doing so at the 15th World Youth Open in 2014. Participating in the Rona Event, her team KO'd in the Quarterfinals.

Alex is 25, making this the last junior event he can participate in (in case anyone needed extra incentive to donate). He's currently 19th on the Barry Crane List for 2015, which is not an easy thing to accomplish, almost halfway through the year! He has a full time job at home and plays bridge professionally whenever his schedule allows.

At 21, Christian is about to graduate from the University of Alabama with degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science. Relatively new to the bridge world, he's already represented the USBF once, just barely missing the Quarterfinals of his event. He splits his time between school and pro dates at regionals.

Roger needs less of an introduction than the rest of us. As recently graduated junior player, he's previously represented the USBF junior teams and is a regular partner to Bob Hamman and Josh Donn. Aside from being a professional bridge player, he mentors a handful of juniors through the USBF mentoring program. Having his valuable insight leading up to, during, and after the tournament in Croatia excites us to no end. We're glad to have him aboard!
