Hi friends,
We are UIC NOMAS, a student chapter at the University of Illinois at Chicago. NOMAS stands for the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students who's mission is to champion diversity within the design professions by promoting the excellence, community engagement, and professional development of its members. Our student chapter's mission is to increase minority participation in the field of architecture. We endeavor to enrich personal, professional, and academic skills so that we can develop future leaders who are aware of the problems we face as minorities and are capable of solving them together. More information can be found here.
We host many events throughout the year including a firm crawl, mix and mingle, legacy event, holiday parties, and many more.
We are hoping to receive donations in order to cover our operational costs such as establishing a website, buying food for our chapter meetings and events, and start bigger fundraising efforts such as designing and selling t-shirts.
Funding will allow us to spread our mission to a wider audience while helping us develop future leaders that will make the architecture profession more diverse and successful. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
