Tipping Our Hat To You Brian

To say Brian is well loved is an understatement. He is a strong, kind and giving person who's love for others shines through in his actions and words.  He has worked at the Grillroom Chophouse and Winebar for approximately 4 years, and last month he received devistating news. 

After going to the ER with what he thought was the flu, Brian was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Melanoma. Brian did not have health insured at the time and he was refused treatment by Northwestern Hospital. Via the Affordable Care Act, Brian purchased health insurance immediately after his diagnosis and was recently notified that Blue Cross Blue Shield will now not cover any of his much needed treatments. Brian has been to several hospitals and each have refused to treat him without insurance. Meanwhile, Brian is in constant pain.  He is also now faced with the burden of not being able work and the stress that presents to his personal finances and daily life.  Paying for expensive medication and treatment is not something anyone really prepares for.

Brian’s cancer has now spread to his L2 lower back vertebrae, T4 right rib, left axilla lympnode, left lymphnode above clavicle, right lung node, and spine. The cancer is spreading fast and time is crucial! In order to fight it we must find him help fast!

Our team at the Grillroom is a family and we are hoping to raise enough money to get Brian treated immediately. We love him dearly and none of us are prepared to lose him.
