In memory of Timi, we are raising funds specifically for a memorial to assist children with kidney failure. This is the family's wish. We are still collecting funds for the family for those who want to bless them.

I (Uzo) am doing a half marathon to raise funds in memory of Timi.

As a family and group of friends, we would be tremendously appreciative for any contribution, however little, to support.

Our Timi
Timi Ayorinde, a plucky 9 year old who battled Kidney Failure. She was such an engaging, polite and fun loving girl! And a supportive big sister to her two sisters Simi and Eni.

Timi was diagnosed with Acute Kidney Injury resulting in renal failure and required a kidney transplant.  Things took a turn for the worse on Sunday night, 5th March. In the morning of Monday, 6th of March, we lost our angel on earth and Heaven gained another angel.

Please read further to understand Timi’s journey and her parents, Nneka and Muyiwa’s anguish and struggles.

Timi’s Journey
On 13th of January 2017, Timi was rushed to the hospital where it was discovered she had a Haemoglobin of 6.0 and was found to be in heart failure.  An ultrasound  scan showed her heart was massively enlarged as a result of her heart failure.  Timi had three units of blood transfusion. Blood tests done showed her kidneys were not functioning well and her parents were told she needed haemodialysis.

In four weeks, she had septic shock, hypertensive and was on peritoneal dialysis because she was too weak for haemodialysis. Her kidney function continued to deterioate and we were informed that she had to undergo a kidney transplant.

Her parents had been so overwhelmed with the turn of events, they have both kept a vigil at her bedside in the hospital right till the end.

The mounting daily medical expenses had been more than the family can afford. They had relied heavily on family and friends to support them financially, in prayers and looking after the two younger children.

Timi’s Bravery
Our dear Timi went through a lot over the last couple of weeks and it is sometimes difficult to believe she was just 9 years old. This little girl had so much more to live for and we hoped through your support, she would get the treatment she so clearly needed in other for her to live a long and healthy life. Alas, it wasn't to be

Timi was courageous and throughout the period she fought hard to stay alive, reassuring her mum that she was ok, even when she was obviously in pain.

What we find most inspiring about Timi was her belief that Jesus will heal her. We have seen her during bouts of pain and sometimes in tears, praying and confessing "I am healed in Jesus name".  We are still in shock and believe God knew why.

Her doctors and nurses had taken to this brave little girl who believed in the power of God and that one day very soon, she would be able to do all the things she loved, most especially dancing.

Being in hospital and hardly seeing her 2 younger sisters was very hard on her.  All around her were encouraged and inspired by her bravery and we thank God for the impact she made for someone of her age.

For those who believe in the power of prayer and divine healing, please remember Timi and her faith. God is still God!

Medical Treatment and Cost
As you can imagine, the past few months have been incredibly traumatic for the whole family. Her medical costs which are already so much are out of reach for her parents. Your donations had helped tremendously towards these costs.
