Help UE High and Vestal School's TigerTronics build the champion robot for the 2016 FRC competitions.
Union-Endicott High School’s and Vestal High School's FIRST (For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics team, TigerTronics (team 2053) needs your help in raising funds necessary to compete in the FRC (FIRST Robotics Competiton). FIRST is an organization that develops students’ interest and ability in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Teams are given six weeks to design, build, and test a full size robot to compete in a new challenge every year. Teams are required to design and build within very tight schedule, budget, and engineering constraints. During the six week build period, our team meets every day after school from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and at least one day on the weekend for several hours. In the past, we have had a local company sponsor the majority of the cost of our program, but due to the current economic situation, they are no longer able to contribute at the same level. Your contribution will help us continue to inspire the youth of our country to pursue careers in STEM.
By donating to our project, you will be helping students not only design and build a robot, but also aspiring businessmen and women will be learning how to manage a budget, raise funds and connect with potential donors. The students that work on the technical aspects are future mechanical engineers (designing drive trains and other mechanisms), electrical engineers (wiring the robot to work) and computer/software engineers (programming the robot). Your donation will help us purchase materials such as aluminum for the chassis, motors, pneumatics. Your donation will also help us pay for travel costs.
