Sculptural Food Forest Installation

The vision is to combine land art, sustainable design & landscaping, biomimicry & growing food & flowers into one interactive installation.
Jeeyun Ha , with the help of other soil and sustainability artists , will transform the residential front yard of Enci Box (Mother, Artist, Activist) into Tierra Flux: A Sculptural Food Forest Installation. It is an art installation that has a play area with opportunities for climbing, where fruits, vegetables, and native flowers will be planted and which will give habitat for birds, butterflies and bees. We will also have an area for composting and to raise worms. The garden is already organic (the owners have not used any pesticide since they moved in about 3 years ago) and the soil will be prepared sustainably to naturally retain and harvest water. The installation will be built using natural materials, such as wood and twine to build the large woven wooden structure and to build the tuteurs .
This auction supports a unique, artistic and ecological project. Let’s creatively alter the way we view and utilize our yards & lawns.
We are also offering workshops that will help build the structure and at the same time will educate those involved about sustainable and organic crafting, building and gardening techniques
Before the workshops can begin, there is a two month long preparation period: breaking down two trees, trimming & sorting wood, digging swales, building examples for workshops, etc. The entire project takes three & a half months to complete.
The auction will be used to cover the cost of supplies, plants, labor and necessary paperwork for the installation. It will also buy us the necessary tools as well as refreshments for workshop participants.
The workshops will be lead by various experts & professionals.
