Tick-tock: Racing the Clock

Tick-tock, tick-tock; all I seem to hear is the sound of a clock racing into the future. Not a biological one, but an important clock all the same. You see, I was 36 years old when I began pursuing my bachelor’s degree at Fontbonne University in St. Louis more than ten years ago. Only four credit hours stand between me and my degree; however, my student funds are exhausted and I need to repay what I currently owe to Fontbonne before I can complete my degree.


This hurdle also stands as an obstacle to me realizing an even bigger dream—pursuing my Masters of Fine Arts in Writing at Washington University, St. Louis. I’ve always had a passion and talent for writing and want to use my gift to the fullest to inspire others facing extreme heartache and seemingly impossible challenges to rise up to achieve their hearts’ desires. I need $7,590.00 by the end of July in order to enroll in Fontbonne University in August to finish my last two courses.

I’ve experienced the loss of many important people in my life (when I was nine my mother died from colon cancer and my uncle died suddenly a few months later) and have faced intense medical challenges (a rare genetic condition requiring two major surgeries) but my dedication, passion for life and sheer determination have never allowed me to give up. Please help me as I work to complete this long-desired goal of sporting that coveted cap and gown crossing the stage as a Fontbonne University graduate. I am asking you to assist me in raising the necessary funds.
