Thomas's emergency medical fund

Thomas’s mum, Joanne, our daughter, is a single parent and sole provider for her family of four boys. She has to work long hours as a nurse in order to give them a decent lifestyle    

Two weeks ago 10 year old Thomas became very ill and required emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix. Unfortunately although the care from the hospital was good, recovery was hampered by infection which could not be controlled and Thomas needed to be transferred for specialist care at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane. The Surgeons realised how serious Thomas’s condition had become and placed him on the list for further emergency surgery on Sunday 4th September. The surgery was unexpectedly difficult and lasted almost three hours. Thomas is in a lot of pain as the doctors try to resolve his problems.





Joanne is blessed to have good supportive family and friends.  However  Thomas has needed his mother almost constantly at his bedside and so, of course, she has not been able to  work,  but the bills just keep on coming.




As her family, asking for help without her knowledge is incredibly hard for us to do even during these very stressful circumstances, and knowing that she wouldn’t approve. But small donations will make a huge difference so that Joanne will not have the extra worry of how to make ends meet while she nurses Tom back to health.
