It has been quite a journey since this fundraiser began when Drew was diagnosed on November 17, 2012. At that time Drew’s brain tumor needed treatment immediately and he began chemotherapy shortly after. The community came together and responded so quickly to help, it was truly heart-warming. People began giving so generously- sending also their love, prayers and words of encouragement to the family. The money raised went directly towards the next 1.5 years of chemotherapy- co-pays, countless medicines, doctor visits, MRIs, blood transfusions, surgery for his port placement and removal, and many unplanned hospital stays. Drew had some success with his tumor shrinking at the start of treatment, then it plateaued and stayed the same size for the remainder. As long as it did not grow it was considered a success.
Unfortunately, in September of 2014, after a routine MRI, it was discovered that Drew’s Optic Nerve Glioma has begun growing again. The family faces the same situation they found themselves back in 2012. When surgery is not possible, chemotherapy is the only option given for his particular tumor, and typically they administer once a week for a full year. Once again this little boy and his family have a long road and many battles to fight in the year ahead. Your donations and prayers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
Thank you everyone for your generosity ! Gina and Mark are so touched and appreciative.
Thank you so much everyone!
Prayers for Drew & the whole Fowler family!
Oh you Guys.. I am so sorry that you have to go through this again. It's so hard to make sense of. I pray that Angels surround your family as you go through this, together, again.... that you can all let go of the everyday stresses of life, in order to be with each other, let yourselves unravel when need be, have fun when you're feeling good, and relish each and every moment spent together. I pray that Gina and Mark get the rest and self care needed to hold the space for Drew's process. and I pray that we each count our blessings, and feel gratitude for this amazing, short, poignant, beautiful, and heart wrenching experience of being alive.
Thank you for your donations everyone!
All I can offer is a prayer. Let's pray that God watches over him.
I will say a prayer! If I wasn't going through something similar and was healthier to work I would have made a doation, but at this crazy diagnosed time I must offer up my prayers. I know first hand the road ahead for him and you, and prayers are stronger than one might think.
Gina and family, Shannon and I are sending our prayers & good wishes to Drew. You are all in our thoughts daily..
may god cure you.
Sending you a lot of prayers and hope to Drew and your family. I understand what you must be going through since my parents went through it with me as a child. Drew looks like an amazing little boy and full of spirit. I am sure God is watching over him to see that he gets well. You will be in my prayers. ~Mary
