Our beautiful home that we have been working on and making perfect for the past three years went up in flames on Monday, November 16th.
The outpouring of support has been incredible for our family - we are all okay. Thank you to everyone that has reached out to check on us -- we are just picking up the pieces and determining the best path moving forward.
We don't know what caused the fire. We woke up to Benjamin crying and had seconds to get out of the home. Our 3 month old is our little hero!
Insurance is estimating 10-12 months to restore our home back to its original condition. We are currently staying with Jessica's family so our immediate housing needs are covered. In the meantime, we are looking for a rental close to our home to watch the restoration process.
Jessica and I appreciate the outpouring of support. Many thanks to all of you who have brought things over for Benjamin. Our dreams of our first Thanksgiving and Christmas at home with Benjamin have been adjusted.
The goal for this account is to get us through the holidays -- we lost our personal items as well as Benjamin's (in terms of clothes, toys etc) as all of that was on the 2nd floor which was damaged the most.
Sometimes bad things happen and life throws you a curveball. The essence of happiness is how you deal with life when chaos happens. Main point is - bad things happen. But life is still beautiful and we are OK.
