16 Marathons in 16 Days for Charity
Hello Everyone! Thank you SO much for taking the time to take a look at what I'm doing!
Ellen DeGeneres has inspired me and continues to inspire me everyday! She proves that one person can positively change the world. She proves that one person can create and spread so much kindness and love. I constantly strive to live my life in this way, and I want to thank her in person! So I have decided to literally run to her .. From Phoenix, AZ (Where I live) to Burbank, CA where she films her show. Totaling 419 Miles... AND I'm doing it all for Charity. 100% of Your Donations will be split evenly among 4 Charities. I am not taking a single cent of the Donations!
I am a Full Time Musician and in January of last year I ran the Full 26.2 Mile Rock n' Roll Marathon here in Phoenix, AZ. 45 Minutes after I completed the marathon in just over 4 hours I was performing with my band on the Main Stage right after EverClear finished performing. Next thing I knew I was known as the #MarathonMusician ! Now I'm taking it to a whole new level!
On Sunday, March 24th I am going to run the 1st of 16 Marathons in 16 Days starting in Phoenix,AZ and finishing in Burbank, CA on Monday, April 8th covering a total of 419 Miles over those 16 Days!
My purpose and passion is to spread awareness and raise funds for these charities that are dear to my heart.
1. AZ Cancer Foundation for Children
2. CHRYSALIS - Driving Out Domestic Violence
3. AHCA - Arizona Health Care Foundation
4. Ellen DeGeneres Campus - Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund
I'm going to livestream each days marathon from my Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/leeperreira/ with hopes of spreading as much awareness as I can about these amazing Charities and a goal of raising $1,000,000.00, giving $250,000.00 to each charity.
Performing music for a living I've learned how much I can positively affect this world and now I'm trying to use it as a platform to give back more than I ever thought I could.
Your support means more than I could ever express. My life truly changed when I realized how my music can bring happiness to Dementia Patients in Memory Facilities, or to Children with Cancer, or to victims of Domestic Violence. My life has been injected with a true purpose. To bring some sort of relief to those in pain. I would be truly honored by your support. Whether that means you just sharing my cause or if I'm blessed enough that you donate some of your hard earned money to these many people in need.
Withdrawal plan to get the funds from the campaign to the ultimate beneficiary/ies / How the funds will be spent (please be specific as possible):
- I plan to let this GoFundMe run until 12:00pm on Friday, April 12th. At that time I will end the campaign and withdraw the money. I'll divide the total amount donated equally between the 4 Charities and then I will present a check to each Charity with their equal 25% share of the total money raised. Again, I am not taking anything, not a single cent will go to me. 100% of YOUR donations will be split equally among the 4 Charities.
