Our beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend Richard James “RJ” Baker passed away on January 1st. We are still in mourning and ask that the community respect the family’s wishes to remember him not in the manner of his death but in how he lived. He was a wonderful father and a loving husband to his family and that is how we want him to be remembered.
Richard James, the son of Charles and Patricia (Griener) Baker, was born on August 4, 1983 in Erie, Pennsylvania. He attended and graduated from St. Mary’s School for the Deaf in Buffalo, NY. He also obtained his BA from Gallaudet University in Chemistry in 2009. He married Cinbrella Saunders on June 5, 2010 in Washington, D.C. Richard was employed as a lab technician in Silver Spring, MD and as a special education paraprofessional assistant at the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf.
Richard has joined both his mother Patricia and brother Charles in heaven. He is survived by his wife, Cinbrella, of Faribault; two beautiful daughters, Delilah, age 3, and Avannah, age 1; brother-in-law Cynan of Indianapolis and his family; brother-in-law Jesse of Washington, D.C. and his family; sister-in-law Priscilla of Faribault and her family; and sister-in-law Shandella of Austin.
Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Monday, January 4th from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. prior to the funeral service which will be held at 4:30 p.m. with the Reverend Emory Dively, pastor of Deaf Life Church, officiating.
The money raised through this site and through personal donations will be used towards the funeral expenses and living expenses for the Baker family.
