2019 FRC World Championship fund(Terrorbytes#4561)

Donation protected
We, the High School Robotics team TerrorBytes #4561, have qualified to compete at the 2019 FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, Texas (April 17 - 20, 2019). The team couldn't be more thrilled to experience this transformative event and to compete with 600 teams from over 60 countries across the world!

We are looking for support to cover our travel, lodging, and food costs during our week long trip to and from Houston. All donations received through this fundraiser will go directly in reducing costs for each student to travel to the event which will allow ALL team members to attend.

As our students represent multiple socio-economic backgrounds, we feel that many of them will not be able to participate without significant financial assistance. Our dedicated and inspirational team of 45+ students can grow one step further with your help.

This fund will be fully utilized to offset the cost to students towards this trip.  If you would like to make any donations, it will be great if you can make it prior to the event, preferably by April 14th, 2019. If you are unable to make it this time, please share this page with your friends, neighbors, colleagues and family.

Our team is in its seventh year of operation and was founded at Research Triangle High School in Durham, NC  in late 2012.

We have participated in two district regional competitions this year until qualifying for both the FRC NC State Championship and the FRC World Championship .

2019 Awards and Recognition:

FNC District Wake County Event
- District Event Winner
- Industrial Design Award sponsored by General Motors

FNC District UNC Asheville Event
- District Chairman's Award* - We are the youngest team in N.C to win the Chairman’s award.

FIRST North Carolina State Championship
- Excellence in Engineering Award sponsored by Delphi

*The Chairman’s Award is the most prestigious award at FIRST, it honors the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the mission of FIRST. It was created to keep the central focus of FIRST Robotics Competition on the ultimate goal of transforming the culture in ways that will inspire greater levels of respect and honor for science and technology, as well as encouraging more of today’s youth to become science and technology leaders.

Journey to the World Championship:

Each year, only about 10 top ranked teams in North Carolina qualify to compete at the World Championship. The teams go through two District events and a State Championship event and need to excel in order to make it to the World Championship.

Thank you very much for all your help and support!
