TechHuddle is a UK-based IT Development company with offices in Bulgaria and our campaign 'Teaching Bulgarian orphans English' is something we hope to sustain for years to come.
Teaching Bulgarian orphans English is all about helping less-fortunate kids and giving them a chance to do something positive with their lives once they leave the orphanage.
By learning English, they will not only have some form of proper education, but they will then be able to have a positive affect on society by getting jobs and paying their taxes and hopefully living normal happy lives.
These kids have absolutely no chance in life, they've been left alone to fend for themselves and we must help them!
More than 50% of Bulgarian orphans don't live to see their 20th birthdays - it's tragic but it's true. And the rest, well, they end up on the streets resulting in being manipulated by mafia into crimes like prostitution or stealing.
What do we want to do to help? We're cycling from our office in Sofia to the coastal town of Bourgas, which is around 500km in total. We're going to cycle 120 km per day for 4 days.
What do we want from you? We are looking for donations to fund exclusive English classes for children from 10-18. The English classes will be provided by the Helen Doron Early English centre and kids will be given books, rucksacks, accessories to help them and certificates at the end. The Helen Doron model makes learning English fun with songs and games and brings children together, forming real bonds and friendships. My 3 year old daughter is a student at the Helen Doron centre in Sofia, so I can personally vouch for the quality and professionalism.
What do they do later? We hope that with their English skills, the children will then go on to further develop themselves, by using computors, or by furthering their eductation in school/college/university. With basic English skills they can work in callcentres, or in the tourist industry (hotels etc).
We will do this ride on an annual basis, and continue to raise as much as possible to help these poor little souls.
