Who Am I:
My Name is Coach Jenn, I'm the founder of FastpitchFit. We teach softball players  how to become leaders on their team, in their schools and in our communities.

Recently, a team of girls I work with, ages 9-17 were inspired to raise money and support a team half way around the world. We need your help to make their dreams come true!

The Background Story:
Fastpitch Softball was recently taken out of the olympics. This has had devasting effects on the dreams of millions of young athletes around the world and here in the US. We know that by growing the game internationally, we also increase the chances of softball being added back into the olympics, ultimately reinstating the olympic dreams of millions of kids around the world.

But HOW can we accomplish such a big feat?
It starts ONE TEAM.

Who this GoFundMe Supports:

For the first time in history, teams from developing countries have been invited to come and play in the 2016 World Cup of Softball.  Our good friend Joni Frei, of Canada, was announced Head coach of the Ugandan National Softball Team. She has been working with young women in Uganda for over a year to prepare them to play at an international level.

The Ugandan National Team is currently made up of 19 Ugandan Women , 3 local coaches and Joni.

When the Funds are needed:
This GoFundMe will support the travel for the entire Ugandan National Softball team and Coaching Staff to come to the World Cup and Compete on the National Stage for two weeks in July 2016.  Funds are needed on a rolling basis to hold hotel rooms, purchase equipment and ultimately flights. (The most expensive part)

Worldly Impact
This is about more than a tournement.
During Team Uganda's stay in Canada, athletes will receive important business, health and agriculture training to bring back to their community in Uganda.

Local Impact
Why should we care about a team half way around the world? This team holds the key to growth for our sport.

I support this team because I believe in Coach Joni Frei. She is the kind of woman you instantly fall in love with, and so does every young athlete who works with her. She demands excellence from everyone she works with and Team Uganda is no exception.

Joni recently guest mentored a group of girls I coach. After listening to Coach Joni,  5 of these young athletes from across the US to make a plan on how they could support her. They made a commitment to figure out how to raise $60,000.  They believe  they can make it happen.

These 5 young athletes. ages 9-16, are starting businesses, selling jewelry, writing books, doing public speaking and learning life skills because they want to make a difference in the sport of softball and in the world.
I believe when they begin to see YOUR support through donation, this will add fuel to their fire.

This is not just about Team Uganda. This is about an entire sport coming together for a unifying mission.

Your support of Team Uganda, is support for the game of Fastpitch Softball itself...
and the millions of young athletes around the world that dream of one day representing their nation on the world stage.

Thank You for your contribution and for sharing with friends and family.
