On be half of the Team Green family I would like to express our thanks to everyone that has contributed to Team Green.  Because of your generosity Adam and James were able to compete in the Hoka One One High Performance Middle Distance meets in Los Angels CA, Concord MA, and Portland OR.  As you know hard work, commitment, and sacrifice are not the only requirements to get to the Olympic Trials.  Athletes must have a qualifying time to get the opportunity to participate in the Trials. To achieve this they must go where the competition and weather are.
On Sunday evening James Gilreath was 4th over-all, 2nd American in the Portland Distance Festival HP 800m, setting a new personal best of 1:46.70.  While this time is .7 seconds off the auto qualifier, it ranks 23 on the US list and only the fastest 32 US runners in the 800 will be invited to the Olympic Trials.  With only 13 days left to qualify, chances are on our side that James will be accepted to run in the 2016 Olympic Trials.  We are going on the assumption that he will and procuring transportation, lodging and his training will proceed with that mindset.
Eugene is a great venue to run in but flights and accommodations are very expensive. TGR is self funded by our training programs, local businesses and individuals that understand the commitment, work and sacrifice that our athletes must have to get this far and realize they need help.
James has worked with Team Green for 5 years without one complaint.  He is an excellent ambassador for our community and for our sport and that is why I am reaching out to you.

Thank you for your time and you support.

James Gilreath and Adam Godwin will run the Adrian Martinez Middle Distance Classic this afternoon. James will run in the first section of the 800 at 6:55 EST and Adam will run in the 2nd section of the mile at 7:18. These guys have worked very hard to earn the opportunity to run here, but it would not have been possible without the generous donations from all of our wonderful donors. Travel and lodging to these prestigious meet is expensive but necessary if athletes are going to run qualifying standards for the Olympic trials. On behalf of the TGR family and especially from James and Adam, we you like to express our thanks and gratitude for making this trip possible. You can watch the race live tonight @ http://adrian-martinez-classic.runnerspace.com/eprofile.php?event_id=9577&do=videos&video_id=178571

Team Green is excited to have two athletes that have achieved the standard to participate in the 2016 USATF High Performance races. The first of the three middle distance meets, the Hoka One One HP will be held at Occidental College in Los Angels CA. The sole purpose of these prestigious meets is for athletes to achieve the Olympic standard.
Both TGR runners achieved the qualifying marks to attend these meets during Indoors. James Gilreath ran 1:47.74 for 800m and Adam Godwin’s 4:00.73 in the mile qualifies him to race the 1500m. To compete in The Olympic Trials James must run 1:46.00 and Adam a 3:38.00 in the 1500 or 3:54.00 in the mile. The High Performance meets are held on the east and west coast (Oregon, Massachusetts and California) and getting the athletes to these meets to compete for the Olympic standard is very expensive. James and Adam need financial assistance to travel to these meets to achieve the standard and get to the Olympic Trials. In addition to financial support; airline miles, hotel and car rental points would help these athletes and be greatly appreciated.
