NEXT STEPS:

Jacqueline von Edelberg's interactive public art piece, Mylar For Disco, Not Deportation invites community members to write notes of hope to children separated from their parents at border.

The artist insists that art and personal protest have the power to create tremendous social change. “We are a nation of immigrants. Together, we are spitfire and rebirth, and above all, love. THIS is the spirit that makes America great.”

The installation has been featured at the Loop Alliance Activate, the Lakeview East Festival of the Arts, Andersonville Arts Week, the Newberry’s Library’s Bughouse Square Debates, Taco Fest, and Women’s Marches in Seattle, Chicago and Pittsburgh. On permanent display at Outrage in Washington DC.
