The Flint Fund

Donation protected
My name is Bria Nelson and I'm a Senior in Marketing and Management at Iowa State University looking to help out the community in Flint, Michigan. I'm sure many of you, by now, have heard about the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. If you haven't, in March 2014, the city of Flint switched its water supply from the Detroit line to the Flint River as part of a cost-cutting initiative. Since then, the water has remained so contaminated with lead that it is not only undrinkable, but also extremely detrimental to human health. I personally do not know anyone currently in Flint but I can't keep standing by doing nothing while others are suffering. I have started this page to help fundraise money to donate to the United Way at Genesee County via their website.*

#TheFlintFund has been featured on Channel 13 News  as well as in the Iowa State Daily .

The United Way of Genesee County has set up this fund for the purchase of filters, bottled water, emergency support services and prevention efforts. 100% of the fund is used for these projects and no Administrative Fee is assessed. The UWGC has sourced more than 11,000 filters systems and 5,000 replacement filters, ongoing sources of bottled water to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan and also supports a dedicated driver for daily distribution. (Flint Water Fund - United Way)

*100% of the profits raised in this fundraising effort will be donated to the United Way.
