Trinity Free Clinic Brighter Smiles

The mission of Trinity Free Clinic is to provide quality free medical, health and dental support to the uninsured working poor of Hamilton County, IN. We do this with dignity and respect through a professional and dedicated volunteer staff.

Even with the Affordable Care Act, there are countless Americans who fall in between the cracks due to a recent job loss or other such circumstance where immediate care is required for which they have no coverage.  Our patients typically hold several jobs and are uninsured or underinsured.  The Trinity Free Clinic helps our patients get the care they need without worrying about the challenging economic situations they may find themselves in.  Last year we treated 4,296 patients, including 1,456 patients who received dental treatment and 700 children who received free fluoride varnish.

Since our patients do not have the means to pay for regular dental cleanings and treatment, we often see them when their dental condition is dire.  We see a lot of patients in severe pain due to infections as well as many other dental problems.  It is crucial that our 38 active volunteer dentists have the technology they need to get a clear and accurate picture of each patient's mouth so that they can diagnose their problem and design a treatment strategy that will ease our patients' suffering and allow them to get back to work and to taking care of their families.

Our current panoramic x-ray still works, but because of its age, parts are no longer available.  We are afraid that our old machine will stop working during one of our busy Saturday morning clinics and we will not be able to provide care to our patients.  In 2014 we performed 187 panoramic x-rays and in 2015 we will perform an estimated 240.

As you can see, the Trinity Free Clinic is in desperate need of a panoramic dental X-ray machine, and we need your help.  We can buy a new Planmeca ProMax 2D machine for $50,000 or a used one for about $20,000.  Not only will this machine allow us to image patients for the next 5-10 years, but the images will be significantly better and expose our patients to dramatically less radiation than with our current technology.

We are hoping to meet our goal by Friday, October 16.  Any funding exceeding our goal for the X-ray machine goes directly to supporting the clinic's mission.  If you would like to learn more about the Trinity Free Clinic, please visit our website at www.trinityfreeclinic.org

Thank you for supporting the Trinity Free Clinic and its mission.
