Saving Sweet Pea the Corgi

As most of you know, Sweet Pea is our first "baby". Ever since being rescued from an abusive, terrible situation, she has been a member of our family – and our community - for the past 5 years. There is nothing we wouldn't do for our little low-rider.
Recently, Sweet Pea became very ill. After weeks of visits to the vet, diagnostic tests and stress, she crashed really hard last Sunday night and had to be rushed to the emergency vet where they told us she easily could have died that night. After being referred to several specialists and undergoing even more tests and ultrasounds, she was finally diagnosed with Addison’s Disease – also known as “The Great Pretender” because it can present itself in so many ways that it’s hard to diagnose; and is often mis-diagnosed or not caught in time. This is good news for Sweet Pea and we are ecstatic that she will (hopefully) be able to grow up with her little brother, Oliver.
Unfortunately, she's not completely out of the woods yet and we have racked up quite a vet bill. We would do it again in a heartbeat, as she’s a member of our family, and we want Ollie to grow up around such a sweet dog. However, the vet bill is more than we can handle and we are currently almost out of savings with a long road to recovery and maintenance ahead of us. We have even sold Mark's truck to cover some of the bills.
We are currently looking into various rescue dog aid organizations, but we need the ability to still continue with doctor's visits and treatment for our girl. While we absolutely hate that it's come to this for us, we feel that now is the time to swallow our pride and ask for any help available.
Any amount would be incredibly appreciated, and once she's better we will do our best to plan doggy dates as a thank you to anyone that has helped us. This can, and probably will, include lots of hugs, tears, and maybe "thank you" beers.
The emotional support alone has been tremendous and we love and appreciate all of our friends. Thank you for caring about little Sweet Pea as much as we do.
