Ciao everyone!

In July 2017 I went to Nepal with my partner Marty to film the documentary  “Sustainable Action for Nepal” about how Nepal is recovering after the 2015 earthquake investigating some of the successful local grass-roots sustainable projects happening all over the country especially in rural areas.

We are passionate about living sustainably, caring for the environment, for people and ensuring healthy relationships with Nature and one another.

We started off our journey at Hasera Permaculture Learning Centre. This is where Silvia started to explore the concept of permaculture back in 2014.

We got to know how Govinda Sharma and his family helped the local community to recover after the earthquake through fundraising and providing bamboo shelters and solar panels.

We then traveled to the far east of Nepal near Ilam to visit Mother Earth Sustainable Children’s Home , a permaculture home for children of prisoners built after the earthquake. Here, children can live in a safe and healthy environment

As a crowdfunded documentary Sustainable Action for Nepal aims to raise awareness on how to create a sustainable future within your own community. We learnt a lot from this experience especially because Nepalese are very resourceful and resilient.

Our aim is to give the profits from this documentary to the projects we encountered in Nepal because they are run directly from local people.

Thank you very much again for your generosity and for sharing the project!!

Ciao a tutti!

Hi all,

We wanted to let you know that Martin has been undergoing cancer treatment and is on his last round of chemotherapy. Editing has had to be put on hold whilst he has had to cancel all work for a good part of this year.

The great news is that Martin is free of cancer and is recovering from treatment and fatigue.

We thank you so much for your support in our crowdfunding campaign and apologies for the lack of direct updates here.

We have updated our Sustainable Action for Nepal page and launched a new crowd funding campaign for the post production of our film.

This is aimed at covering costs:

- Postproduction and editing
- 3 new back up hard drives (stored in different locations)
- Entrance fees for film festivals
- Small percentage for promotion and marketing

All profits will be donated to the inspiring grassroots projects we covered in our film.

The new crowdfunding campaign has additional information and images about what we filmed and covered. Please check it out and let us know what you think.

We would really appreciate if you could share our campaign with your family and friends.
Spread the word via social media and email.

Every little bit helps.

Thank you again for your amazing support!

With Love,

Hi everyone!!

Busy busy with work but thinking about this project every day!

The aim for this month is to show you another video related to the project Prisoner Assistance Nepal ( http://panepal.org/ ) because it puts together two things we care about a lot: the environment and the younger generation.

Please keep on following us and let us know which project excites you the most so far!

When time comes, we'll ask you to vote for those projects so we can send them the money we collected here. Therefore keep following us and help spread the word!

Thank you :)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for those who are celebrating!

Your contribution was really precious to get us started with the documentary.

There is still a lot of work to do and we aim to finish editing by April.

Martin has been also working on creating a short film about the forest of Australia and I have just finished a 5 week intensive teaching course. We are looking forward to the new year, progressing with the documentary and sharing some behind-the-scenes images and videos.

If you haven't seen it already, watch the Life of Bamboo, a preview video for the Documentary Sustainable Action for Nepal

Please invite other people to like our documentary and donate so we can reach our goal.

Best wishes!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Silvia and Martin
