When someone funds a film project the funds employ actors, crew and generate revenue for caterers, and other local businesses in the area. Film projects give back to the local community.
Film Industry - Statistics & Facts
According to the Motion Picture Association of America, in 2016 the Motion Picture & Television Industry created 2.1 million jobs with wages totaling $139 billion establishing the production and distribution of motion pictures and television programs as one of the most significant contributors to our nation's economy. The average salary of the industry was 42% higher than the national average and created $53 billion in wages for high-quality direct industry jobs. The industry comprises of over 93,000 businesses that operate in every state in the country contributing $49 billion in payments to over 400,000 local businesses. This provided local businesses with much-needed revenues to operate and employ more workers than the mining, oil & natural gas extraction, crop production, utility system construction, and rental & leasing services not to mention supporting caterers, dry cleaners, hotels, florists, hardware and lumber suppliers, software, and digital equipment suppliers, as well as jobs in other companies doing business with consumers, such as video retailers and services, theme parks and tourist attractions. Overall in 2016 the Motion Picture & Television Industry $136 billion in sales to America's economy up 1% from 2015 and provided $16.6 billion in exports worldwide as the industry operates in nearly every country in the world. From a cultural aspect, the Motion Picture Industry provides a creative conduit where all disciplines can participate in the production of motion pictures.
The global film industry shows healthy projections for the coming years, as the global box office revenue is forecast to increase from about 38 billion U.S. dollars in 2016 to nearly 50 billion U.S. dollars in 2020. The U.S. is the third largest film market in the world in terms of tickets sold per year, ranking behind China and India. There are about 5,750 cinema sites in the U.S. as of 2017, although this number has steadily decreased since the year 2000, and stood at 7,480 back in 1997.
The statistics show the box office revenue in the United States from 2012 to 2015, as well as a forecast for 2016 to 2021. According to the source, the revenue will grow from 10 billion U.S. dollars in 2012 to 11.3 billion in 2021

Our next project - The Clouds - loosely based on a true story.
Synopsis: A son taking care of his religious elderly mother brings him his girlfriend to live with him. The mother is at odds with the situation and soon learns the girlfriend, unbeknown to the son, is a jezebel that want to put her in a home so she can live with the son. The son gives in eventually as the mother keeps insisting she wants to be in her favorite television show, The Clouds, where old people are made young again. The day the orderly comes for the mother they find the mother has disappeared. After searching everywhere the son and girlfriend discover the mother is in the show and is young again. A news flash appears telling of an impending disaster that is about to end all life on Earth.
