Activities for Children with Cancer
Every year, over 10,000 children are diagnosed with a form of childhood cancer. As one of those families, we know first hand how disruptive this is for a family, and how important supporting these children is, as they go through a treatment plan that often takes years to complete. Sadly, for many, this journey never comes to an end, becuase the cancer proves to be too much, and their child passes away. This is our story.
The little boy in the picture above is Braeden. He was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, the day before his second birthday, and after nearly two years of treatment, he passed away just a month before his fourth birthday. Over those two years, the staff did an amazing job of not only attending to his medical needs, but also his need to play, and just be a kid. To say thank you, and to celebrate his birthday, we collect all sorts of toys, activities, electronics, treats, educational aids, crafts, etc. for children of all ages being cared for at Helen DeVos Children's hospital, where Braeden was cared for. We feel it's the least we can do for those who fought with their very being to save our son.
100% of your contribution goes directly to purchasing these items. The fees that GoFundMe take for the use of their service are replaced out of our own pocket, so you can be confident in knowing that when you contribute, every cent is making a difference!
