VSA Malawi Hospital Fundraising

My name is Stuart Macleod, I am a 4th year medical student going to volunteer in a Hospital in Mzuzu, Malawi for which I am trying to raise money for.
I am going with a group of 6 other medical students as part of VSA (Voluntary Services Abroad) which is a student run society in NUI Galway that raises money for hospitals in the 3rd world and sends volunteer medical students to these hospitals. Since its foundation, more than 400 NUIG medical students have been sent overseas as healthcare volunteers, bringing with them funds to develop and support healthcare delivery in the areas they are working. Places where students in the past have volunteered included areas in Africa, South-East Asia, and South America.
We have already held events and fundraising activities but we need to continue raising funds for such a disadvantaged but deserving community. We pay for our own travel, accommodation and living expenses during our time away by ourselves. This means that 100% of the money we raise will go directly to the hospitals helping to provide desperately needed funds and equipment.
We are going over to volunteer our time and help in whatever way we can for 4 weeks in the hospital but it is the money we raise which will provide the most benefit. This is why we are doing our very best to raise as much money as possible and any contribution is greatly appreciated!
