Standing Rock Medic & Media Shelter

Donation protected
Native American Sioux people, along with other native and non-native allies, have been working and praying to protect their water supply and sacred burial grounds from the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) since April 1. The pipeline was relocated to this area from an earlier route planned closer to Bismarck, ND, because of safety concerns by the people living there.

The situation has often spiraled out of control with flash bang grenades, sound cannons, tear gas, rubber bullets, and attack dogs. The reality out of Cannon Ball North Dakota resembles scenes from a war zone. To make matters worse, police are attempting to forcibly evacuate a camp established on land that belonged to the Sioux tribe, affirmed in an 1851 treaty.

Although the protectors have remained prayerful and unarmed at all times, for months now they have endured violent repression in response to their peaceful efforts to protect their water supply and way of life. Medics have been on the front lines to help the victims physically and emotionally. These medics are all volunteers. Some do not have a permanent place to stay. With the winter setting in, they will need warm shelter as they continue to do their invaluable work.

This campaign has set a goal of $6,500 to purchase and ship an authentic yurt for a Standing Rock medic and media person to have a much needed warm winter shelter. This healer is doing both medic and media, posting real-time video updates on Facebook. In the event that we do not raise enough funds to get a yurt, we will get her an authentic tipi or another suitable winter shelter. In either case, a group of us are planning to be there to help erect the shelter, so you will be able to see it in both stills and video.

I will post updates on my Facebook page on a regular basis to keep everyone aware of our progress on this campaign. If you desire to be there to support these water protectors, beyond our prayers, but are unable to go, purchasing this shelter is a meaningful way for us to support them now. The hope is to raise the needed funds and deliver and set up the shelter by early December, or as soon as possible. By supporting this campaign you are helping this cause not only in word and prayer but in powerful deed. Any amount we can send, however little or large, transforms our prayers into manifestation. Thank you for your consideration and support, and be blessed, everyone.
