Support Staff Sgt John Henderson

My name is Emerald Weber, I am starting this campaign on behalf of my godfather John Henderson. He is a husband, a son, an uncle, a brother and a veteran. And loved by MANY people. He is full of life and never fails to make you laugh whether its making fun of you or just ending up laughing at the way he laughs. He just recently graduated from college and it was one of the biggest achievements of his life.

We always joked about how much food my uncle could eat, he could eat plates and plates of it and never get full or gain a pound. He recently started eating less and losing weight quickly, which prompted a doctors visit. Upon this visit, they discovered a tumor in his colon. There are also lessions on both his lung and liver. He is considered stage  four. He is going to have to undergo treatment and he is the only one who can work between him and my Aunt.

He served 34 years between the Army and the National Guard. He has done two tours over seas, one in Afghanastan  for a year and one in Iraq for a year and a half. My uncles military career could take up an entire page. When he retired he was a Staff Sargeant level E6. He has given so much for his country and so much for his family.

On top of being sick, my aunt also has never been able to work due to medical problems. Between the two of them, there are not more giving people that you can ever meet. They are the first people to volunteer to help in any situation. He was also a volunteer firefighter for some time. They love their family and their friends and do anything to help them when possible. They take care of my grandparents who are both ill also. They are constantly there as a support system. But right now they are the ones that need the support. 

They are not the people that would ever ask for help. However we are hoping to make this process as easy on my uncle as possible as he is going to be missing work and he is the only income paying on a mortage and all other necessary expenses. If there is anything you can do to help, please let me know, we would very much appreciate the support during this time.

If I could take this situation on as my own I would in a heartbeat, they have done nothing but impact this world with positivity, and I just wish that I could take the fight as my own. Since I cannot we are trying our best to make this as easy as possible for them.

Our family will be forever grateful for your support during this time, we are just hoping to soon have our happy go lucky John back.
