It is with great pleasure we are announcing the very first SFF - Spiritist Film Festival of Australia. The SFF is a three-day celebration that will happen on the 1st through to the 3rd of September, 2017 on the Gold Coast.
Aside from the Film Production, the Festival will also present to the public a Book Fair and Seminars with well renowned speakers from the Spiritist Community from around the world. There will be also a Community Area, where the public will be able to discuss and gather information about the Film’s, the Spiritist Philosophy and the Suicide Prevention Projects and Support in the Gold Coast.
The event’s theme for the SFF is ‘The Gift of Life’ - an invitation for the reflection and practice of gratitude, including topics such as the importance of mental and spiritual awareness in the transformation process to achieve inner peace. One of the aim of this event is to contribute to the World Suicide Prevention campaign in the Gold Coast, which is also taking place in September. Therefore, we are counting on the most valued support of individuals and organizations to make this a FREE event for the local community, as we believe it is of public common interest.
By stimulating the formation of audience for the Spiritist film industry in Australia, we also create an awareness about Suicide and its consequences through the view of Spiritism philosophy. By the SFF more than create an awareness we aim to provide reliable information about how and where support can be found specially for the youth group and ‘independent of any cultural background or personal believes’.
Your contribution will help SFF to:
· Deliver the best Spiritist Films for our programme
· Provide a FREE event for the local community
· Provide transport, accommodation and meals to the international speakers
· Provide a discussion panel and Q&A sessions at the Seminars, so that everyone can receive insight about the subjects and event’s theme
· Provide working conditions to all volunteers involved in the Festival
· Cover general administrative and production costs (venue hiring, transport, Insurance, etc)
· Cover costs for Book fair , specially the transport of books from abroad
· Advertise and Promote the event at a large media audience (virtually & printed)
· Provide the public and community with interaction opportunities with post-screening
As a not-for-profit event, the SFF exist through support from people like you, and we are incredibly grateful to every individuals and organisations who generously have being supporting our project.
