Sophie's 6th Birthday in Disney

Sophie is diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called Cockayne Syndrome (CS). This condition is so rare that it occurs in 1 in 500,000. Currently, she is the only known case in the Philippines. Kids with CS are usually small for their age, have problems with feeding and experience premature aging because the genes responsible for repair are damaged. They are also sensitive to UV rays, thus a small exposure to the sun causes sunburn.

But despite all of these challenges, they are such happy and loving kids who relish being hugged and kissed and Sophie is no exception! She also loves giving out tight hugs and sloppy kisses!

Five months from now, Sophie will be turning 6 years old (September 12). Every birthday of hers is a cause of celebration, and this year, we want to give her a magical birthday. We have managed to secure plane tickets at a discounted price. We are still saving up for the trip but with all the daily living expenses and therapies Sophie has, we're afraid we might not save up enough... You see the nearest Disneyland from the Philippines is in Hong Kong so we need all the help to make Sophie's birthday trip as comfortable for her as it is memorable.
