This is Miss Sophia Jackman. She has been featured in The Daily News in Newburyport and The Boston globe.
She is 5 years old. As Sophia gets older and begins new stages in her life we find the expenses associated with her care very challenging to manage.
Some of the expenses include,
*Medical trips
*Medical Supplies not covered by insurance.
*Extra child care not covered by insurance.
*Wheelchair van
Sophia relies on her wheelchair to go everywhere. Being in a car seat puts pressure on her joints and belly. Transporting her to appointments is very painful and exhausting, especially with loading her wheelchair and medical equipment in and out of the car. Having a wheelchair accessible minivan would allow Sophia to have a better quality of life by allowing her to travel to doctor's appointments comfortably, and go on family outings.With the right funding, we can give Sophia a more independent lifestyle that is more comfortable for her and her mother.
