Small Sacrifice become a 501 c3

Donation protected
Since 2013 we at Small Sacrifice (smallsacrifice) have worked with your help to change lives, to feed the hungry, heal the sick, fix the broken.  Together we have used microdonations for specific causes to raise around 25,000 meals by giving up sandwiches , provide cleft palate surgeries for 34 Ethiopian children by giving up our razors and makeup , given 20 families clean water for life by giving up our coffee, and given 36 Lancaster, PA children weekend food for a year just by "right sizing" our Valentines.  People are replicating the model in their communities to raise awareness, develop understanding, and enact change.  Lives are being changed.  The change in our pockets is becoming the change in the world.

Recently we've had a few amazing things happen.  Mike , our founder was given the honor and privilege to speak at Tedx Lilly and shine a light on the responsibility to help and the power that we each have.  He was also named one Fortune Magazine's "Heroes of the 500," a group of 50 individuals across the world that are doing what they can to use what they have been given to better others.  These two things are HUGE honors, and belong to all that have helped us make a difference.  Now we want to grow into the shoes that we have been given.

One of the most frequent questions we get is how people can give when we are between initiatives.  We suggest organizations that may fit the hearts of the donors, but inevitably we get the question of "why can't we just give to you?"  Short answer: we aren't a charity, we're a traffic cop.  But what if we could?  What if we were able to collect funds and pass them through to where the need is greatest?  What if we could enact change, better lives in this way?  In order to do this, we need to become a 501 c3, a non-profit.

Up until now Mike has paid for everything out of pocket - marketing, Facebook ads, webspace, printing, etc.  Quite honestly, he's doing what he can but lacks the funds to take Small Sacrifice to the next level.  That's where (hopefully!) you come in.

We're raising $5000, roughly the legal and administrative costs of becoming a 501 c3.  ALL excess funds will be given to Feed My Starving Children to provide life-giving meals for children.

Can you help?  Can you give a few dollars so that we can continue to change lives?  Do you know a lawyer that could provide some help?

Together, we achieve more.  Together, we can move a mountain.  Will you join us?
