April 14-16, a Slow Fish gathering of fisherfolk, activists, food-lovers, chefs, community and industry leaders, and scientists are coming to San Francisco. We will gather to educate, advocate, celebrate, and activate anyone involved in sustainable fishing and to uphold our values of seafood that is good, clean, and fair for all!
To guide all of our Slow Fish conversations we rely on those who live in sync with our marine ecosystems and who bring hands in the sand, slime on the skin, and boots-on-deck experience. This means indigenous and community-based fish harvesters. In order to take time away from their livelihoods and attend Slow Fish these folks often risk losing income and more. That's why we're asking you to help bring these important voices to San Francisco!
We have created this GoFundMe campaign to raise money to cover registration fees for fisherfolk and Slow Food Turtle Island representatives from around the world!
Our friends at the Marine Fish Conservation Network have generously offered to match any donation we receive, up to $3000! That means if you donate $10, $20 will go toward covering registration fees.
All donations will go directly to Sustainable Fisheries Foundation and every penny you donate will be used exclusively will be used exclusively to support fish harvesters and fishing community leaders to attend Slow Fish.
With only a few short weeks left until Slow Fish 2018, we want this vital event to be a venue to support and build community, share collective culture and knowledge, and empower us all to make better choices and be better advocates. Please, assist us in ensuring this dream comes to fruition by donating and helping bring these most important voices to San Francisco.
