Single Mother Schooling

Donation protected
Single mother of a beautiful 2.5 year old. We both currently live in the safest neighborhood I can afford on my own. Ten years ago I was involved in a traumatic accident that has left me both emotionally and mentally disabled. I have a hard time comprehending and remembering simple things, I also suffer from extreme social/stress induced anxiety and ptsd. My daughter is the best thing that has ever happened in my life but she was a surprise pregnancy and I was not prepared professionally to provide for a family. I want to take my chances and go to school where hopefully I can absorb enough hands on training so it sticks in my memory. I want to set an example for my daughter that even with brain damage and emotional disorders, if you work hard enough you can provide for yourself instead of living off disability. Right now my goal is to go to school as a medical assistant since it is a shorter less expensive program, then get a job as a medical assistant for a few years to get us out of this neighborhood and then start saving to further educate myself. It is a 14 month program and the tuition is 17 thousand dollars, I was approved for a 6 thousand dollar grant and 2 thousand dollar scholarship for an essay I wrote. That leaves me with 9 thousand dollars left for tuition. School loans are high interest so I was really hoping to be able to encourage people to help me with my tuition! Medical assisting is a very competitive profession so it may take a while to find a job to pay off loans with interest, so I may be in debt for a long time. I also want to share that though I am a single parent, her father is a wonderful man and father and visits often, and takes her every other weekend. He works very hard at two jobs and comes home with little to nothing because he lives 2 hours away and only has a truck most of his pay check goes into gas until he can move closer to us and his job. He struggles to give the child support he can afford. Every donation made counts and gets me one step closer to being accepted into this school where I know I will learn wondrous things that I can apply to helping others in the medical field.
