UPDATE! August 2020

Shon and his daughters will be moving into a new home in Sept 2020. This will be the first time they will get to live as a family since Shon's accident in May 2019.

There will be some expenses for the move, but fortunately many friends are volunteering to help on moving day!

But most importantly we will need to buy most household furniture (including beds for Malia and Lola) and stock their home with household items as they had to sell or give away a lot of items when we had to put their personal possessions in storage.

Many people have asked this past year how they can help. Helping the Holderbaum family get set up in their new home would be greatly appreciated!

Funds may also be sent directly to Shon's PayPal account at: www.paypal.me/shonholderbaum.

If you would like to be kept up-to-date on his progress, we also have a Facebook page

As many of you know, on May 22nd, 2019, Shon was riding his bike in Palos Verdes and was involved in a collision with a vehicle.  Along with many physical injuries,  Shon sustained a severe traumatic brain injury and was in a coma for about 3 weeks. But in true "Shon" style, he has persevered and been making incredible improvements both physically and mentally.

The last several months have been very challenging for Shon and his daughters but the outpouring of love and support has helped them through this difficult time.  Shon is a single father to two sweet young daughters, Malia and Lola, who lost their mother to breast cancer in 2015.

Shon is an incredible cyclist and skier who loves pushing himself physically. He has overcome so much in his life and this is the biggest challenge that he has ever faced in his life.

He is a warrior and his great attitude, strength, and determination has been an inspiration and source of hope and pride for all those who care for him and hold him dear in our hearts. One of Shon's favorite mantras is "#JustMOT" (just a matter of time!), which was termed in college and now is especially symbolic of his journey to recovery.

We have now created this GoFundMe to help raise money for Shon's continued medical care and rehabilitation, living and school expenses for his daughters, and other financial needs for the three of them.
