Sharron's Wheelchair Accessible Van

I am in desperate need of a wheelchair accessible van. I'm a very social person and I love visiting friends and family! I love going to church, but haven't been able to go regularly I've used a wheelchair since 2001 and its become more difficult to transfer into a car. My helpers just can't physically lift me. I've become a prisoner of my own home. I hate it!

I need a wheelchair accessible van that will allow me to roll right in, without breaking my assistant's back. I am hoping to purchase an older Dodge Caravan with a drop floor. I would love to purchase a 2012, but realistically who can afford $54,000! I am looking at vans with an automatic lift and power everything. From my research, I have concluded I'll need about $20,000 to purchase the van with all the features I need. Even though I'm working part-time (from home), I don't earn enough to buy this van on my own.

I'm not only thinking of my well-being, but those that are trying to transfer me. It's extremely difficult and hard on their backs and knees. When I visit family around the holidays, they want to take me shopping, or out to eat, but can't because they can't transfer me.  They feel bad, I feel bad. A wheelchair accessible van would open up the world to me once again! I could go without feeling guilty for the hassles I put my love-ones and friends through.
