Send Savannah to Volunteer

Hi everyone, 

I am blessed to have been accepted into several programs to volunteer abroad and witness first hand medical professionals treat those in need. I will be shadowing doctors and be able to watch and learn how they interact with the people of the community.
I will also see how healthcare systems are similar and different in different countries. The locals in these communities do not have the best healthcare, and by going abroad I get to witness them getting the best care possible. I am looking forward to not only visiting a new country, but also immersing myself in the culture.

Being presented with the oppertunity to do this is amazing, and I am looking forward to the possibility of going. This has been a dream of mine for a long time, not just going abroad, but going abroad with a purpose. I have done much volunteer work here at home in the US, and I would like to continue my work elsewhere. The medical focus of these programs interests me greatly because I am aiming for a career in the medical field after I graduate from Penn State.  

Unfortunately, without help I will not be able to do this amazing program over the summer.  After taking out loans for my sister and I for college, there is little to be spent on other things that are not necessary living expenses. I have been working during the school year, but that alone is not nearly enough.

The money raised will be put toward the program fees and flight. Every little bit counts, and I want to thank you for taking the time to read this even if you don't donate!
