THE COUNTRY CLUB IS HEADED TO KANSAS CITY...AND WE'RE TAKING THE NORTH DALLAS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, THE TEXAS BBQ FORUM, AND LOCAL YOCAL FARM TO MARKET WITH US !!
Boots, Yoda, Rolo, and the rest of The County Club family, friends for 36 years, are the giant killers of the barbecue world. We take on big teams with big egos, big pits, and big dreams. Working closely as a well-oiled machine with a tiny, old school pit smoker and a shoestring budget, we took on the best in Dallas/Fort Worth and came out on top of 40 teams to take the Grand Championship at The Big D Barbecue Battle on June 10th, one of the largest and most intense barbecue competitions in North Texas. Produced by the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce and benefitting the Guns and Hoses Foundation of North Texas (which supports the families of fallen First Responders) and Cafe Momentum, a learning lab culinary training center for at risk youth, in a short 4 years The Big D has emerged as one of the most exciting and competitive cooks in the state.
NOW our heroes have set their sights on one of the all time big daddy cooks, the Amercian Royal in Kansas City, the largest barbecue competition in the world. And we are taking our sponsors, the NORTH DALLAS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, the internationally renowned TEXAS BBQ FORUM (our media sponsor) and North Texas' best purveyor of quality meats, LOCAL YOCAL FARM TO MARKET (our meat sponsor), with us!
Like David taking on Goliath, we have the tools, the talent, and the tenacity, but to get there we are still going to need a bit of a helping hand.
That's why we are reaching out to our family, friends, business connections, colleagues, passing strangers and loose-spending politicians (and anyone else with a true love of the smoking arts) to raise money to the support the effort. While the biggest barbecue competition may be in Kansas City, the BEST barbecue comes from the center of the barbecue universe in Texas. And it's time to bring that to the world once more - so we hope we can count on your support to help make it happen.
