We humbly ask for your financial assistance to save the life of a kind, wonderful, and selfless man who unwittingly sacrificed himself to make sure the family he loved and cherished had the best he could offer.
Day after day and year after year, Malcolm spent long hours working for a pest-control company in North Carolina. At work, Malcolm had to crawl beneath homes and through confined spaces which exposed him to all sorts of molds, fungi and toxic chemicals. Ten years ago, out of the blue, Malcolm’s health suddenly began to fail and it was then doctors diagnosed him at the young age of 35 with hypersensitivity pneumonitis. Malcolm had essentially destroyed his lungs to provide for us.
Since then, Malcolm’s physical condition has continued to decline. He is now oxygen dependent twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and requires our constant assistance to meet his most basic needs. Malcolm is not a candidate for a lung transplant, even were one available, and until now we were powerless and resigned to prayer as our last hope to somehow delay the inevitable. But now, miraculously, it appears we have a chance to cure this debilitating disease. Malcolm’s physicians recently disclosed to us that advances in medicine, specifically the use of stem-cell therapy to target and rejuvenate scarred lung tissue, has produced life changing results for others who suffer from Malcolm’s condition. Unfortunately, the treatment is extremely expensive and far beyond out financial capability.
For all those years, Malcolm gave each of us all he had to give. He never once complained and even to this day, he has never asked anyone for anything and continues to show strength and integrity. Instead, it is up to us to return the love he gave to us and we must now reach out to you on his behalf.
We know that many others out there are suffering and we would never ask for you help unless we truly and desperately needed it. And so, if you have anything at all to spare whether it be a donation, however great or small, or prayers and wishes, we will be eternally grateful to you and receive them with open arms. Your generous donations will allow Malcolm to fight this awful disease, improve the quality of his life and allow him to be able to interact with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren.
