Arts groups always seem to have struggles with funding, and the Fraser Valley Gilbert & Sullivan Society - A Musical Theatre Society, is in that position.
The rising costs of theatre rental and trending decline in ticket sales for theatres in general has put this 30+ year old organization on the precipice of closing.
We invite you to go along with us on the adventure. Yes, we create high quality, very entertaining shows - but more, we positively impact our communities - giving back far more than we take.
A typical show directly involves 50 cast and crew, and plays to several thousand patrons over the run. Our casts get high level training and exposure to what professional theatre is like - and in fact, many of our alumni go on to pursue careers in the arts.
But we cannot rely purely on occassional government grants or on ticket sales alone in order to provide this valuable resource for our communities.
Your contributions will go a long way to help us to continue performing 2 excellent, award winning shows each year, allow us to continue to keep our set building and storage facility - and more importantly, continue to encourage people of all ages and diverse ethnicities in our communities.
