Save the Blue Loop
Robert Park is an artist in Bath Michigan. He has a degree in fine art from Michigan State and has shown his work in the Lansing area. His outdoor art work called "The Blue Loop" has been deemed junk by the township and he was ordered to remove it. On October 31, 2018 he had his day in court and lost. He was fined a total of $300 by the court and his lawyer Bill Metros who worked pro bono has incurred expenses of $400 representing him. The judge was extremely sympathetic, but there were problems. The original complainer rescinded their complaint, however, the township continued with a trial. There have been several articles in the Lansing State Journal, Bath Dewitt Review, and The Lansing City Pulse. Art is Robert's life. I was at the trial and he was almost in tears when the judge made his ruling. We are trying to raise money so that he can appeal and keep his prized art work.
By the way, Bob is truly a starving artist. He currently does not have internet at his house, so I have been printing out your comments and donations and bringing them to his house so he can see them. He gives his most sincere thanks to all of you for your support.
Want a yard sign, button, or Blue Duck? Pick one up at the Eggleston Gallery & Studio, 14035 Webster Rd. Bath, MI.
Why a blue duck?
The Blue Duck has become our symbol of the Township's ridiculous ordnance. That is because the court ruled that only the one blue duck can remain. It is the only part of the Blue Loop that is legal on Robert Parks property. The rest has been ordered removed.
