My name is Serina Rankins and on behalf of my best friend, Kamilah Lewis and family I am trying to raise funds to help with the funeral expenses for her mother Sandra (Jemerson) Lewis.
Sandra was discovered deceased in her home on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Her family has yet to know the real cause of death because the coroner refused to take her body for further investigation. The family is in distress due to the circumstances surrounding her death.
Sudden death is devastating. It tears apart families, leaving children without a mom, parents without a child, or individuals without a partner. There is no time to prepare or say goodbye. Life is changed forever. People bereaved by sudden death suffer terribly – they are often left isolated, bewildered and traumatised and need support to help them cope and move forward with their lives.
Sandy was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was loved by many who were priviledged to know her. Her smile and sparkling eyes captivated those who came into contact with her. She will truly be missed.
Due to Kamilah's job loss, the insurance policy she had in place for Sandy lapsed and was terminated. The family is asking for donations for her funeral costs.
