Supporting Syrian Widows

Hello my name is Cody Langford from Stonyford, California raising money for sewing supplies and sewing machines to support Syrian widows that have children but no husbands to earn a income while staying with their children and not to leave them. These women are alone with kids without a proper income in a foreign country to them. This project will be helped with aid of my hosts Mahmoud and Kawthar that has accompanied me 3 times. The campaign will be addressing the refugee problem in Antakya(Hatay), Turkey. We will provide the women with sewing machines and material such as beads, string, sewing machines. As we have already started and thankfully have 3 women with jobs now making small souvineer like items, necklaces, earrings, and such. Items you can hang from your mirrors. Anything you can think of in terms of that. Our hope is to have 10 women working with the projects completion. The good thing about this project is it gives the opportunity for the woman to stay at home with the child while working. In situations where the husband is deceased its necessary that the children have atleast a mother role instead of no role. The items will be sold locally and in other cities of Turkey and hopefully will be able to have this project on Amazon..but that is for the future. Now the main goal is employing the women and aiding them with the supplies. The pictures you see here are items made just by the 3 women thus far supported by this project. Money will either be wired from the bank as before but this time directly to my host or I will travel there making it my 5th trip and deliver the money first hand to then be exchanged into Turkish lira to buy supplies. We hope to you that we can make this grow and be another successful campaign as we had with the carpentry shop. I will be posting continual updates and updates on my Facebook about this project.
