SMS students to Black Panther Movie

Donation protected
South Middle School feels that the movie “Black Panther” is a very important movie that our students should see.  This is the FIRST African American Superhero Movie with a predominately African American cast. Not only does this show students of color that there are superheros out there who look like them but it also shows all students that there are more than just one type of hero.  It shows Black people in a light other than poverty, slavery, comedy, or corruption.  It also gives a different view of Africa.  This movie celebrates blackness without exploiting an entire race to fit the view of a few.

Please support our efforts to provide a ticket and transportation for every student wanting to go see “Black Panther.”  We are asking for the price of the movie ticket and transportation for 200 students.  That is $10 per student.  The movie has been planned for February 28th at 2pm.  The money will be needed by February 21st, so that the tickets can be purchased.

Please help us allow every student at South Middle School who would like to go….GO.

Thank you
